Alzheimer’s Society also provides local support services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. These services include dementia cafés, ‘Singing for the Brain’ sessions, dementia advisers, support workers and side-by-side volunteers who help those people suffering from the condition, as well as their families, friends and carers.
The charity believes that too many people face dementia alone, and many people find it difficult to figure out who to turn if they’re looking for information and support. The solution is to provide a wide range of support services to ensure that nobody has to face it alone.
One of the charity’s most significant goals is that by 2022, all people who are newly diagnosed with dementia will have an offer of support and all those who have the condition will be able to manage it and live better overall.
